On April 16th, the Middle Eastern Cultural Programs (MECP) office hosted a puppet-making workshop led by Ali Etesamifar, a graduate assistant of the program. Students enthusiastically participated, creating their very own original characters using the materials provided. We enjoyed a delightful, fun, and creative time with students from diverse educational and cultural backgrounds, freely bringing their imaginations to life through foam, fabric, and glue! By the end of the workshop, everyone went home with a whimsical little companion crafted with their own heart, brain, and hands!
Watching students communicate with one another through characters they freely created was a true highlight of our puppet-making workshop!
Puppetry is a medium that welcomes everyone, at any age, to explore creativity and emotion. At UConn, we are thrilled to offer the one-of-a-kind and inspiring degree program in Puppet Arts, which not only sets us apart but also fills us with pride.
We are looking forward to seeing you in our future creative workshops!
